Dilution Guide

Essential oils are concentrated aromatic oils that capture the plant's essence and properties. To fully experience their benefits, dilute them into a carrier oil. The carrier oil will help the skin absorb and spread the oils further while protecting your skin from dryness, sensitivity, and irritation.

The chart below provides general dilution guidelines, but you should always consult with an aromatherapist or medical professional for best practices and before using essential oils on children under two years of age.

** For first time use of an essential oil, we recommend a patch test to check for skin sensitivity, allergies, or adverse reactions. Place a drop of diluted essential oil to a small area of skin such as the inside elbow. After application, be aware of adverse reactions for the first 24 hours. Possible reactions include skin irritation, headache, nausea, respiratory complaints or dizziness.
